Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Some data (such as scan history and preferences) is stored locally on your device. Your account data, health profile, food diary, and scan history are also stored in our secure cloud database (hosted by Supabase) to enable syncing across devices. We use encryption in transit and at rest to protect your information.
We retain your scan history, food diary, health profile, and account data for as long as your account is active or as required to provide services. You can delete your scan history at any time through the App. Users may request deletion of their account at any time, and personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

IslandScan is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 without parental or guardian supervision. The App includes a Child Profile feature that allows a parent or guardian to set up a profile on behalf of a child; in this case, the parent or guardian is responsible for providing consent and managing the child's data. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has independently provided us with personal data without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information.
IslandScan requests access to your device camera to photograph ingredient labels and meals for analysis. Photos are stored locally on your device and may be transmitted to our servers for AI processing. You can revoke camera access at any time through your device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance.
